VERTICAL GARDENING

After many observations in nature, French designer and lansdcape expert Patrick Blanc has created and developed a new way to grow plants without any soil.

This new technique allows Blanc to creat a vertical garden indoor or outdoors, no matter where in the world the project is developed.

Some of the advantages of this brand new ultra-trendy way of vertical gardening are that the vertical vegetal wall works as a sound and heat isolation, with its side collateral advantages, such as evinronmental friendly, 100% ecological, pollution free, etc...

In addition to the above, Patrick Blanc chooses carefully each one of the vegrtal species that are going to be used in any of his projects according to the climatic conditions and the local species in order to preserve and minimise any environmental impact.

Washable Keyboard

There’s this one keyboard in my house that is just nasty. I mean, the years of food, drink, greasy fingers, and not being cleaned didn’t do anything to helps its cause. It’s pretty much beyond cleaning at this point, unless you were to take out each key, individually clean it, then reassemble it. At that point, I think we can all agree it’s time for a new one. Maybe, just maybe, I’ll pick up the Washable Keyboard from Unotron. It won’t quite clean itself, but it makes it easier for you to do it yourself.

If you were to take water or any type of liquid to your current keyboard, well, nothing good would happen. Not with this keyboard, though. It has SpillSeal technology to protect it from liquids and dust. You can actually wash this in the tap water from your sink. You’re still going to have to take the initiative and actually clean your keyboard though, a task that’s to much to ask for some people. (you know who you are :;))

This company, Unotron, makes two other washable products for your computer. There’s the washable mouse and the Smartcard reader. At first, I thought the Smartcard reader was for SD, MemoryStick, xD cards, but it’s actually for Smartcards. Imagine that.

The products are a bit expensive, but remember you’re paying a premium for the SpillSeal technology. The keyboard is $50 ($45 without hotkeys), the mouse is $50 (there’s a $70 one too), and the Smartcard reader is the cheapest of them all at $25.

Sensitive Shoes

These new shoes designed by Steve McIntyre are very original. When you walk, there are some pressure points that are stimulated by pressing on a soft sensitive area connected with various reflexology points causing a gentle glow from the underside of the sole.

The ball of the foot touches on the solar plexus point, the centre of emotional energy.

The shoes offer an emotional 'bath of light' experience so that the act of walking is "healing"

Women have been wearing high heels for many decades, and maybe this new kind of shoes will make women's shoes designers turn to a much more comfortable, wearable and tireless shoes for women. Maybe men's will come next...

Hand crank for cell phones lets you call when you're powerless

It's almost summer, and you know what that means — rolling blackout season is here! During these dark times, having a light and the ability to communicate is vital. Enter the hand-cranked cell-phone charger. While other crank systems generate light, this useful device goes one further by not only providing up to 20 minutes of illumination from five LEDs, but can also power a cell phone for quick 2- to 8-minute calls. It's small too, about the size of a regular flip phone, which means users have no reason to leave home without it.

As often as I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere with a dead cell phone, I'd really like to have one of these as part of my road-warrior kit. Unfortunately for now, the ECO is only available in Japan, a country plagued with earthquakes making this a necessary piece of emergency gear. If it's a success there, it's bound to make its way to the U.S. soon.

LUXURY LAMP. SPLUGEN BRAU PENDANT LAMP BY ACHILLE CASTIGLIONI

Don't you think this lamp would look great in your kitchen, dining room or office?

I have been flashed by this superb design. In fact, I love chromed lamps, but this design has attracted me like no ther has done before...

I have done a research, and this is a lamp that was originally designed by Italian industrial designer Achille Castiglioni. This is not a cheap lamp, by the way. If you like fine art and contemporary design, this is yor lamp...although it is not the typical cheap metallic lamp you can find at Ikea...

This beautiful lamp has been a best seller for more than 40 years, since it was designed back in... 1966... yes, it seems unbelievable, but this lamp has been an icon, a mith of design for the last 40 years...

Marketing Trend: ID Plates, Driving The World To Your Website

I was doing a research on the internet, and I found this cool and brilliant idea that I have never seen before. The base of the business is simple but smart, and the potential is unlimited.

If you want to promote your business name, your website, your company logo or whatever messsage you want to show to the world, there is no better way to do it. You can have your website or business name printed in a silver or golden car plate that you can stick to the back of your car, and it will stay there as long as you keep the car. When you change your car, you can always remove the little plate and stick it to your new car.

This ID plate is not a cheap sticker. It is a hard molded plate, with a chrome or golden finishing.

The math is very simple: Any day you drive your car, around 3,000 people at least will read the ID plate you have in the back of your car. This means 3,000 “impressions” of your website per day. In a year this means 1,095,000 impressions of your website or your business name, contact details, etc… Imagine this amazing promotion of your business wherever you drive your car… and the cost of these ID plates is ridiculous: At the full retail price of $39.95 (chromed plate) or $44.95 (golden plate).

In my opinion this is one of the simplest but most effective ways of marketing I have seen. The best part is that shipping is free WORLDWIDE.

BRACELET PHONE DESIGNED BY TAO MA

If you are worried when you carry your cellphone in your pocket, this concept designed by Tao Ma might be the thing you are looking for.

The bracelet of this phone doesn’t have a screen display or normal buttons but it is that simplistic characteristic that makes it special. The image shows how it is supposed to work and where are all the buttons located (numbers, power supply switch, volume, hang up button).

The bracelet phone is supposed to vibrate when you receive a phone call or a message. It would be very advisable finding a way to unfold some kind of small screen in order to display info about the calling number, battery, etc...but designer Tao Ma has not worked yet in this feature.

Another very interesting feature of this bracelet phone created by Tao Ma is that it is also a MP3 player. This design is just in its early stages, so it will have more interesting features added in future releases.

ASUS ECOBOOK. NOTEBOOK MADE OF BAMBOO

In recent years it has become trendy and very positive be green. Asus has decided to follow Kyocera's lead and clean up technology's act with the new ECOBOOK.

With 'EcoBook' Asus has created a laptop which positively helps fighting the global warming and greenhouse effect.

There won't be many who find issue with the choice of material used in the EcoBook. Bamboo wood is easily replenished (it grows infamously fast) and yet when polished up it creates a luxurious wood veneer that is also biodegradable.

But the goodness of ASUS new ECOBOOK doesn't stop there. the plastics chosen to manufacture the EcoBook come from recyclable raw materials and are numbered to facilitate recycling when the product reaches the end of its life cycle.

Asus has also used Paper in the making of this notebook, being used to build the computer enclosure from a form of stiffened card.

In the new ASUS ECOBOOK there is a LED indicator below the screen that changes its light between green and red to show when you are in a low or high energy consumption setting. These LEDs themselves are mounted directly behind the product surface to save waste and there are no paints, sprays or even electroplating used on its components.

Asus new EcoBook exposes the raw materials, keeping the manufacturing process free of any solvents and hazardous materials.

With a release scheduled to the beginning of next year, Asus is obviously in no position to give away specifications or pricing. In the meantime, I am sure many laptop and notebook producers will follow this green initiative that Asus is already leading.

Dolce Gabbana Ad Campaign Censored In Spain

Last week there was a very big controversy in Spain. Dolce & Gabbana released one of the ads from their current promotion (the ad you can see in the picture).Few hours later there were many phone calls, and public demonstrations from associations of women, feminists, and other women-oriented groups that protested and complained, claiming that the ad was humiliating from a women's point of view, and accused Dolce & Gabbana of promoting violence and abuse against women.

Early this week, Dolce & Gabbana pulled the ad out of their Spanish promotion campaign and acused the Spanish society of being old fashioned and out of style... they have also threatened that their next campaign will be even more provocative.

I don't want to give my opinion in this controversy...just look at the picture and judge yourself... hasn't fashion always known to be challenging and provocative?...

Louis XIII Black Pearl Cognac: Beauty Inside, Beauty Outside

This must be one of the most expensive cognacs in the world. At the same time, the bottle itself is a masterpiece, in my opinion. The bottle is made of crystal with a polished hematite finishing look. The fleur-de-lys designs in the outside of the bottle are made of platinum, giving a more luxurious look to the bottle.

The inside of the bottle is the candy of the whole piece: the spirit inside the bottle has been created from 1,200 eaux-de-vie wine aged 40 – 100 years... so imagine the price of this cognac that could easily be shown in a museum as a piece of the most delicate art.

The price of this luxurious cognac is around $1,500 each bottle, of a numbered series of 786 bottles. The exact number of 786 bottles comes from the number of decanters (bottles) that can be filled from one tiercon, the type of oak barrel used by Rémy Martin to age Louis XIII. Now you can have an idea about why is this Louis XIII Black Pearl Cognac so unique, so exquisite and so expensive...

Cabasse La Sphere: $150,000 Speakers

These must be the most expensive speakers in the world. At least, these are the most expensive I have heard of in my life. The sphere shape speakers stare at you as if they were big eyeballs.

This innovative and trendy design was released in january, and their spherical enclosure has been carefully designed to avoid standing waves and create a more rounded sound.

I am sure these speakers do not leave people without an opinion about them. I am sure you love them or you hate them. In my case, I love them but they will be my impossible love, because I can not afford to pay $150,000 for a pair of designer speakers.

The only problem with thong sandals is that to find a really stylish and beautifully designed pair , especially for men, is a more than difficult task most of the time. These Louis Vuitton AIX Thong sandals is one solution. These thong sandals are made of a very thin black calf leather and the insole is padded for comfort. The sole and the outer strap both have the Louis Vuitton signature logo on top. The price is $420.

Luxury Watches: Zadora Timepieces

It is very hard for me to describe these watches with words...at least you have the pictures to realize these are not watches. Time in this case is not the most important thing, and this must be the reason why in these amazing masterpieces of jewelery the time is read through on the side of the watch rather than the top. The dial rotates and the hand remains fixed. The winding and setting crown has a briolette cut diamond, the lugs are set with precious stones, and the time indicator is set with diamonds to mark the half hours.
The price?? $150,000 each.

The Nokia 7373 Special Edition is available in two colors, Powder Pink and Black Chrome. The pink model has a pearl necklace instead of the standard strap and has gold-tone heart and skull charms. The black phone has a high-gloss finish and a matching black strap with a chromed skull charm. Each one of the phones comes with a coordinating carrying case.

Trend Observer Is Watching You

This is the first post of Trend Observer. The reason why we have chosen this topic for our blog is simply because we know there is a lot of audience paying attention to any new trend that might arise anywhere...

If any celebrity shows a new designer bag, or is caught doing something wrong, funny, ridiculous, prohibited...we will be there.

Our definition of trend is not only related to famous people, celebrities, movie stars, etc... in our opinion, anything with good design and attractive to people with exclusive taste can as well be something trendy that deserves our attention and interest.

A new car released by Porsche, a new opera house designed and built by Sir Norman Foster... anything fashionable, on style, luxurious... anything unique can be a trend for us.
